Real Estate Tax Assessment Appeals
The taxes you pay on your real estate are based on the assessed value assigned by the governmental taxing body for the entire county. All county, school and local taxes are calculated using this estimated value. If this estimation is accurate, you pay the correct amount of taxes. However, if the estimation is inaccurate, you may be paying an incorrect amount in taxes, often too much. Even during periods of increasing real estate values, many properties are over-assessed, resulting in overtaxation.
It's important to note that it is not the government's responsibility to ensure your property is accurately assessed. This responsibility falls on you, the property owner.
